Posted on 11/01/2018

Central High School students received an enlightening lesson on civics and human rights from Annette Martínez-Orabona, Executive Director of the Caribbean Institute for Human Rights and Clinical Professor of Law at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico.

Martínez-Orabona spoke to Gary Boisseau’s class about the status of Puerto Rico post-Hurricane Maria. Currently, her work focuses on community-based legal advocacy to improve access to economic, social, and environmental rights in Puerto Rico.

Her visit was made possible thanks to Western New England University School of Law and its professor Harris Freeman.
