Central High School's Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program (AFJROTC) provides students an opportunity to become confident and responsible leaders and citizens. The ROTC program has grown and touched the lives of thousands of America's students from the mid-1960s until the present day and beyond. The instructors are among the finest veterans of the Air Force, who help form tomorrow's nation of proud and patriotic cadets and leaders -- one student at a time.

Career-oriented students will learn about jobs in the Air Force which open important opportunities for the future. High school students that complete the AFJROTC Aerospace Program are prepared to work in an expanding technological world, either in the Air Force or as a civilian. Those who enlist in the military after completing this program may even be able to enlist into higher pay grades than most others.

College-bound students are able to compete for Air Force Academy nominations or Air Force ROTC (AFROTC) scholarships through their AFJROTC unit. Cadets are able to receive credit for their first year of a 4-year AFROTC college program, in addition to free uniforms, insignia, and ROTC textbooks. Students may also receive priority processing when entering the Air Force if they win the Congressman Herbert Advanced Placement Award.

Additionally, there are multiple co-curricular activities available to ROTC students, including Color Guard, Flag Corps, Drill Team, Academic Honor Society, Drum Corps, Saber Team, and Aerospace Club, in addition to several other opportunities. Enrolling in Central's Air Force Junior ROTC and demonstrating effort and growth will pave the way toward a future filled with opportunities.
